SJR36,1,32 Whereas, Nikolas "Nik" Wallenda was born on January 24, 1979, and is an
3American acrobat, aerialist, daredevil, high-wire artist, and author; and
SJR36,1,54 Whereas, Wallenda is known for his high-wire performances without a safety
5net; and
SJR36,1,76 Whereas, Wallenda holds nine Guinness World Records for various acrobatic
7feats; and
SJR36,1,108 Whereas, Wallenda is a seventh-generation member of The Flying Wallendas
9family, a daredevil troupe which has performed and entertained since the days of the
10Austro-Hungarian Empire; and
SJR36,1,1211 Whereas, Wallenda participated in various circus acts as a child, and, at age 13,
12he made his professional tightrope walking debut; and
SJR36,1,1513 Whereas, in 2012, Nik Wallenda set his seventh world record while walking a
14wire across Niagara Falls, and, less than a year later, he secured his eighth Guinness
15World Record by walking across the Grand Canyon; and

1Whereas, on Tuesday, August 11, 2015, Nik Wallenda will attempt his longest
2high-wire walk ever at the 2015 Wisconsin State Fair. This challenge will include
3walking more than ten stories above the famous Milwaukee Mile racetrack for 1,560
4feet on a wire no wider than a nickel; now, therefore, be it

6Wisconsin state legislature do welcome Wallenda to Wisconsin, wish him every
7success, and hereby declare August 11, 2015, to be Nik Wallenda Day in Wisconsin.
