SJR95,1,53 Whereas, individuals, groups, and organizations across the country celebrate
4Random Acts of Kindness Day on February 17th to encourage cooperation, kindness,
5and humility; and
SJR95,1,76 Whereas, Random Acts of Kindness Day involves ordinary people doing
7something kind for a stranger without expecting anything in return; and
SJR95,1,98 Whereas, Random Acts of Kindness Day originated in New Zealand and is now
9celebrated all around the world; and
SJR95,1,1110 Whereas, there are over 500 charities across Wisconsin, each fighting to better
11lives and communities through their generosity; and
SJR95,1,1412 Whereas, these charities have contributed towards improving food availability,
13advancing housing opportunities, and bridging the educational achievement gap;

1Whereas, the need for charity remains great, and everyday people can
2contribute their kindness to alleviate hardships facing Wisconsin families; and
SJR95,2,43 Whereas, as Scott Adams once said, "Remember there's no such thing as a small
4act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end"; and
SJR95,2,75 Whereas, encouraging this philosophy by declaring February 17th as Random
6Acts of Kindness Day can only benefit our communities and improve our lives; now,
7therefore, be it
SJR95,2,9 8Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the legislature
9hereby proclaims February 17, 2016, as Random Acts of Kindness Day in Wisconsin.
