AB11,1,2 1An Act to create 20.255 (1) (ep) and 115.28 (63) of the statutes; relating to:
2mental health training program and making an appropriation.

This bill requires the Department of Public Instruction to provide trainings on
the screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment program, an
evidence-based strategy related to addressing mental health issues in schools, to
school district personnel and independent charter school personnel.

an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB11,1 3Section 1. 20.005 (3) (schedule) of the statutes: at the appropriate place, insert
4the following amounts for the purposes indicated: - See PDF for table PDF
AB11,2 1Section 2 . 20.255 (1) (ep) of the statutes is created to read:
AB11,2,32 20.255 (1) (ep) Mental health training program. The amounts in the schedule
3for the mental health training program under s. 115.28 (63).
AB11,3 4Section 3 . 115.28 (63) of the statutes is created to read:
AB11,2,95 115.28 (63) Mental health training program. Establish a mental health
6training support program under which the department provides training on the
7screening, brief intervention, and referral to treatment program, an evidence-based
8strategy related to addressing mental health issues in schools, to school district staff
9and instructional staff of charter schools under s. 118.40 (2r) or (2x).
AB11,4 10Section 4. Fiscal changes.
AB11,2,1811 (1) Mental health training program. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3)
12of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of public instruction under
13section 20.255 (1) (ep) of the statutes the dollar amount for fiscal year 2017-18 is
14increased by $100,000 to increase funding for the purpose for which the
15appropriation is made. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for
16the appropriation to the department of public instruction under section 20.255 (1)
17(ep) of the statutes the dollar amount for fiscal year 2018-19 is increased by $100,000
18to increase funding for the purpose for which the appropriation is made.
