AB1050,1,2 1An Act to create 29.014 (1n) of the statutes; relating to: hunting hours for
2hunting deer, bear, small game, or wild turkey.

Under this bill, if the Department of Natural Resources limits daytime hunting
hours in a manner that applies to the hunting of deer, bear, wild turkey, or small
game, not including pheasants and migratory birds, those limited hours must be 30
minutes before sunrise through 30 minutes after sunset. Under current law, the
hunting hours established by DNR for those animals are generally 30 minutes before
sunrise through 20 minutes after sunset, except that hunting hours for wild turkey
in the spring season close at sunset.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

AB1050,1,74 29.014 (1n) (a) Except as provided in par. (b), if the department limits daytime
5hunting hours in a manner that applies to the hunting of deer, bear, small game, or
6wild turkey, the department shall establish those hunting hours to be 30 minutes
7before sunrise through 30 minutes after sunset.

1(b) Paragraph (a) does not apply to hunting hours that the department
2establishes for the hunting of pheasants or migratory birds.
