2unemployment insurance claimants.

This bill requires the Department of Workforce Development to allocate
$50,000 for the purpose of conducting a study regarding the feasibility of
establishing a program, using a social impact bond model, to assist claimants for
unemployment insurance benefits by offering them mobility grants to relocate to
areas with more favorable employment opportunities.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB243,1 3Section 1. Nonstatutory provisions.
AB243,2,34 (1) Mobility grant study. From the appropriation under section 20.445 (1) (m)
5of the statutes, the department of workforce development shall, if such funds are
6available, allocate $50,000 in the 2017-19 fiscal biennium for the purpose of
7conducting a study regarding the feasibility of establishing a program, using a social

1impact bond model, to assist claimants for unemployment insurance benefits under
2chapter 108 of the statutes by offering them mobility grants to relocate to areas with
3more favorable employment opportunities.
