2017 - 2018 LEGISLATURE
April 14, 2017 - Introduced by Committee on Education. Referred to Committee
on Education.
AB250,1,2 1An Act to repeal 20.255 (2) (cf) and 115.366 of the statutes; relating to:
2alternative education grants.
Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill eliminates the requirement that the Department of Public Instruction
award grants for alternative education programs and eliminates DPI's rules related
to the administration of these grants. Under current law, DPI must award grants
to school districts for alternative education programs. An alternative education
program is an instructional program, approved by a school board, that includes
alternative or adaptive school structures and teaching techniques and that is
incorporated into regularly scheduled curricular programs or offered in place of
regularly scheduled curriculum programs.
For further information see the state and local fiscal estimate, which will be
printed as an appendix to this bill.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB250,1 3Section 1. 20.255 (2) (cf) of the statutes is repealed.
AB250,2 4Section 2. 115.366 of the statutes is repealed.
