AB722,1,2 1An Act to create 27.01 (7) (gm) 6. of the statutes; relating to: vehicle admission
2receipts issued to certain members of the military.

This bill requires the Department of Natural Resources to charge a reduced
admission fee to state parks and DNR recreational sites for out-of-state vehicles
owned by certain members of the military.
Under current law, vehicles entering state parks or DNR recreational sites are
required to display an annual or daily admission receipt. Admission fees are lower
for vehicles that have Wisconsin registration plates than they are for vehicles that
have registration plates from other states.
This bill requires DNR to charge the lower annual or daily admission fee for a
vehicle that has a plate from another state if the vehicle is owned by a member of the
U.S. armed forces who is stationed in this state or who is a member of a reserve unit
located in this state or if the vehicle is owned by a member of the Wisconsin National
Guard.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

127.01 (7) (gm) 6. Instead of the fee under par. (g) 1. or 2. that is charged for an
2admission receipt for a vehicle that has registration plates from another state, the
3department shall charge a fee equal to the respective amount charged under par. (f)
41. and 2. if the person applying for the receipt is the owner of the vehicle and is a
5qualified member of the U.S. armed forces, a qualified member of a reserve unit of
6the U.S. armed forces, or a qualified member of the national guard. A qualified
7member of the armed forces is a person who exhibits proof that he or she is in active
8service in the U.S. armed forces or in forces incorporated in the U.S. armed forces and
9that he or she is stationed in this state. A qualified member of a reserve unit of the
10U.S. armed forces is a person who exhibits proof that he or she is a member of a
11reserve unit of the U.S. armed forces located in this state. A qualified member of the
12national guard is a person who exhibits proof that he or she is a member of the
13Wisconsin national guard.
