AB767,1,2 1An Act to create 302.387 of the statutes; relating to: the provision of personal
2hygiene products to inmates.

This bill requires the provision of feminine hygiene products to an inmate of a
jail, prison, juvenile correctional facility, juvenile detention facility, secured
residential care center for children and youth, other house of correction, or a secured
unit of a mental health institute free of charge and in accordance with the inmate's
personal health care needs.

The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB767,1 3Section 1. 302.387 of the statutes is created to read:
AB767,2,3 4302.387 Personal hygiene products. (1) The sheriff, warden,
5superintendent, or other keeper of a jail, prison, juvenile correctional facility,
6juvenile detention facility, secured residential care center for children and youth,
7other house of correction, or a secured unit or secured portion of a mental health

1institute under s. 51.05, shall provide personal hygiene products to an inmate, free
2of charge, in a quantity that is appropriate to the health care needs of each inmate,
3including all of the following upon request:
AB767,2,44 (a) Tampons, regular and super size.
AB767,2,55 (b) Sanitary napkins with wings, regular and super size.
AB767,2,66 (c) Panty liners, regular and long.
AB767,2,8 7(2) The personal hygiene products provided under this section shall conform
8with applicable industry standards.
