AJR13,1,42 Whereas, Thomas “Tom” Larson was an entrepreneur, cattle farmer, loving
3husband and father, proud grandfather, friend to all, and dedicated public servant;
4and
AJR13,1,75 Whereas, Tom was born on February 11, 1948, in Eau Claire, Wisconsin,
6graduating from Colfax High School in 1966, and attended Chippewa Valley Tech;
7and
AJR13,1,98 Whereas, Tom worked in multiple trades and occupations, including farmer,
9heavy equipment operator, metal fabricator, machinist, and commercial driver; and
AJR13,1,1310 Whereas, Tom was a master electrician and licensed designer and worked for
11Uniroyal Goodrich Tire Co. in Eau Claire for many years before starting and
12managing his own business, Bear Valley Electric, in Colfax and Menomonie from
131991 to 2010; and

1Whereas, Tom was elected to the Wisconsin State Assembly in 2010 and served
2as a state representative for the 67th Assembly District for three terms, representing
3most of Chippewa County and parts of Dunn and Barron counties; and
AJR13,2,64 Whereas, Tom served as the chairman of the Assembly Committee on Family
5Law, championed professional licensure legislation, and was an advocate for
6veterans; and
AJR13,2,107 Whereas, Tom was a member of the International Association of Electrical
8Inspectors, Chippewa Valley Homebuilders, ABC of Wisconsin, Colfax Kiwanis Club,
9National Rifle Association, National Federation of Independent Business, and the
10Chippewa Falls Area Chamber of Commerce; and
AJR13,2,1311 Whereas, Tom married his loving wife, Mary Ann Nelson Larson, in 1967,
12raising three children, Roger, John, and Cynthia, together during their marriage of
1350 years; and
AJR13,2,1514 Whereas, Tom loved being outdoors, hunting, fishing, tractor pulls, and
15traveling, as well as spending time with his family, friends, and constituents; and
AJR13,2,1816 Whereas, Tom, on the day of his 50th wedding anniversary to Mary, and after
17a long and hard-fought battle with cancer, passed away on February 18, 2017, to be
18forever with our Lord and Savior; now, therefore, be it
AJR13,2,21 19Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the members of the
20Wisconsin State Legislature join in honoring the life and public service of Thomas
21Larson and extend their condolences to his family and friends.
