4in business from Concordia University; and
AJR86,1,65 Whereas, he served as an electrician in the U.S. Navy for six years and worked
6as a special education teacher for Milwaukee Public Schools for eight years; and
AJR86,1,107 Whereas, for over 15 years, Reggie Jackson has volunteered at America's Black
8Holocaust Museum and now serves as the lead docent, a position officially known as
9Head Griot, a term used to describe a West African leader who is part historian, part
10storyteller, and part social commentator; and
AJR86,1,1411 Whereas, Reggie Jackson has played a vital role in expanding the museum's
12vision by creating an online platform and publishing house and scheduling speakers
13and public programing to create interracial dialogue and a valuable educational
14experience; and

1Whereas, he is an accomplished writer and a highly sought-after public
2speaker concerning race relations, equal rights, and black history; and
AJR86,2,53 Whereas, in addition, Reggie Jackson provides diversity training for employers
4throughout the Midwest, sits on multiple local nonprofit boards, and works as an
5Educational Liaison Coordinator at ResCare; and
AJR86,2,86 Whereas, in 2015 he received the Eliminating Racism Award from southeast
7Wisconsin's YWCA, and in 2016, he was given the Courageous Love Award from the
8First Unitarian Society; and
AJR86,2,119 Whereas, Reggie Jackson is an outstanding leader who has consistently
10advocated for those who have been marginalized and has worked tirelessly to make
11his community more open and equal for all residents; and
AJR86,2,1312 Whereas, his unwavering selflessness, passion, and leadership has reshaped
13ideas, challenged old notions, and inspired many; now, therefore, be it
AJR86,2,16 14Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin
15Legislature offers its congratulations to Reggie Jackson for his remarkable
16achievements.
