AR13,1,1 1Relating to: condemning the violence perpetuated by groups to achieve an end.
AR13,1,32 Whereas, the Wisconsin State Assembly, on August 17th, 2017, unanimously
3adopted August 2017 Special Session Assembly Resolution 1; and
AR13,1,54 Whereas, the resolution condemned “all those who rely on violence and hatred
5to advance their cause”; and
AR13,1,86 Whereas, the resolution further added that it is the responsibility of lawmakers
7“as citizens and public servants dedicated to building a better Wisconsin and a better
8country, to denounce such acts of violence”; and
AR13,1,109 Whereas, in Berkeley, a “Rally Against Hate” peaceful gathering was attacked
10by violent supporters of anarchy and members of the antifa movement; and
AR13,1,1211 Whereas, this is yet another disturbing, sad event in a disturbing trend of
12violence perpetuated by both the far-right and the far-left; and
AR13,1,1413 Whereas, no matter the political considerations, members of the State
14Assembly must stand resolute in opposing and denouncing violence; and

1Whereas, the group calling itself antifa has demonstrated that it is determined
2to use violence, despite calls for peace; now, therefore, be it
AR13,2,5 3Resolved by the assembly, That the members of the Wisconsin Assembly
4condemn the violence perpetuated by members of the group calling itself antifa, as
5well as groups that use similar means to achieve an end.
