This bill adds state wildflower and state butterfly to the list of state symbols
and designates the bee balm as the state wildflower and the monarch butterfly as the
state butterfly.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
SB565,1 4Section 1. 1.10 (3) (v) of the statutes is created to read:
SB565,1,55 1.10 (3) (v) The bee balm (Monarda fistulosa) is the state wildflower.
SB565,2 6Section 2. 1.10 (3) (w) of the statutes is created to read:
SB565,1,77 1.10 (3) (w) The monarch butterfly is the state butterfly.
SB565,3 8Section 3. 1.10 (4) of the statutes, as affected by 2017 Wisconsin Act 8, is
9amended to read:

11.10 (4) The Wisconsin Blue Book shall include the information contained in
2this section concerning the state song, ballad, waltz, dance, beverage, tree, grain,
3flower, bird, fish, animal, domestic animal, wildlife animal, dog, insect, fossil,
4mineral, rock, soil, fruit, tartan, pastry, and dairy product, wildflower, and butterfly.
