This bill requires the Board of Regents of the University of Wisconsin System
to create two positions to advance the UW-Extension's farm succession planning
programs. The first position is a specialist within the Center for Dairy Profitability
to assist in the financial aspects of farm succession management. The second
position is a specialist within the UW-Extension's Farm Management Institute to
assist in developing and delivering programs at the local level and focus on research,
training, and joint programming with county-based agriculture extension educators
throughout the state.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:

SB857,2,32 20.285 (1) (em) Farm succession planning positions. The amounts in the
3schedule for the positions created under s. 36.25 (55).

SB857,2,75 36.25 (55) Farm succession planning. The Board of Regents shall create the
6following 2 full-time positions to be funded from the appropriation under s. 20.285
7(1) (em) to advance the extension's farm succession planning programs:
SB857,2,108 (a) One specialist within the Center for Dairy Profitability of the extension and
9the University of Wisconsin-Madison to assist in the financial aspects of farm
10succession management.
SB857,2,1411 (b) One specialist within the Farm Management Institute of the extension to
12assist in developing and delivering programs at the local level and focus on research,
13training, and joint programming with county-based agriculture extension educators
