SENATE AMENDMENT 2, TO 2009 SENATE BILL 40

SB40-SA2,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB40-SA2,1,2 1. Page 9, line 18: delete "this section" and substitute "ss. 11.502 to 11.522".

SB40-SA2,1,5 2. Page 14, line 17: delete the material beginning with "distribute" and ending with "for" on line 18 and substitute "certify to the state treasurer the name of each eligible candidate at the spring primary together with".

SB40-SA2,1,8 3. Page 14, line 21: delete "period; however, no" and substitute "period. The state treasurer shall immediately credit that candidate's account with a line of credit for the amount certified. No".

SB40-SA2,1,9 4. Page 14, line 21: delete "check" and substitute "line of credit".

SB40-SA2,1,12 5. Page 14, line 23: delete the material beginning with "distribute" and ending with "for" on line 24 and substitute "certify to the state treasurer the name of each eligible candidate at the spring election together with".

SB40-SA2,2,3 6. Page 15, line 2: after "required." insert "The state treasurer shall immediately credit that candidate's account with a line of credit for the amount certified.".

SB40-SA2,2,4 7. Page 15, line 2: delete "check" and substitute "line of credit".

SB40-SA2,2,8 8. Page 15, line 7: delete "all public funds received by the candidate to the board" and substitute "the amount obligated by the candidate from the democracy trust fund for the primary or election campaign period for which the candidate received the benefit".

SB40-SA2,2,9 9. Page 15, line 9: delete "board" and substitute "state treasurer".

SB40-SA2,2,10 10. Page 15, line 11: delete "checks" and substitute "lines of credit".

SB40-SA2,2,15 11. Page 17, line 13: delete the material beginning with "state" and ending with "amount" on line 14 and substitute "board shall immediately certify to the state treasurer the name of each opposing eligible candidate together with the amount of a supplemental grant that shall become payable to that candidate. The supplemental grant shall be".

SB40-SA2,2,18 12. Page 17, line 16: after "office." insert "The state treasurer shall immediately credit each opposing eligible candidate with an additional line of credit for the amount certified.".

SB40-SA2,3,2 13. Page 18, line 8: delete the material beginning with "credit that" and ending with "disbursements" on line 9 and substitute "certify to the state treasurer the name of that candidate together with the amount of a supplemental grant that shall become payable to that candidate. The supplemental grant shall be equivalent to the aggregate independent disbursements exceeding the applicable public financing benefit".

SB40-SA2,3,5 14. Page 18, line 10: after "office." insert "The state treasurer shall then immediately credit that candidate with an additional line of credit for the amount certified.".

SB40-SA2,3,7 15. Page 18, line 12: after "treasurer." insert "The state treasurer shall establish an account within the fund for each eligible candidate.".
