ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 261

AB261-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB261-AA1,1,2 1. Page 2, line 3: after that line insert:

AB261-AA1,1,3 “Section 1g. 50.33 (1v) of the statutes is created to read:

AB261-AA1,1,5 50.33 (1v) “Health professional shortage area” has the meaning given in s. 36.60 (1) (aj).

AB261-AA1,1r Section 1r. 50.33 (2r) of the statutes is created to read:

AB261-AA1,1,8 50.33 (2r) “Medically underserved area” means an area designated by the federal secretary of health and human services under 42 CFR 51c.102 (e).”.

AB261-AA1,1,9 2. Page 4, line 17: after that line insert:

AB261-AA1,2,2 “(2m) Subsection (1) does not apply to a hospital or ambulatory surgical center that is located in a health professional shortage area or in a medically underserved area. Any hospital or ambulatory surgical center under this subsection shall have a preference for hiring individuals who satisfy sub. (1) (a) to perform surgical technology tasks or functions.”.
