ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 296

AB296-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB296-AA1,1,3 1. Page 6, line 23: delete the material beginning with that line and ending with page 7, line 10.

AB296-AA1,1,6 2. Page 7, line 11: delete the material beginning with “180 days” and ending with “commenced” on line 12 and substitute “the payday of the first pay period in which the debtor’s earnings are subject to an earnings garnishment”.

AB296-AA1,1,7 3. Page 7, line 20: after that line insert:

AB296-AA1,1,10 “(4) If an earnings garnishment takes effect the pay period after the debtor is served under s. 812.35 (4) (b), that service is considered the first notice mailed to the debtor under sub. (3).”.
