ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 2, TO ASSEMBLY BILL 387

AB387-AA2,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB387-AA2,1,2 1. Page 1, line 4: before that line insert:

AB387-AA2,1,10 “Section 1f. 20.005 (3) (schedule) of the statutes: at the appropriate place, insert the following amounts for the purposes indicated:

AB387-AA2,1g Section 1g. 20.435 (1) (ck) of the statutes is created to read:

AB387-AA2,2,2 20.435 (1) (ck) Emergency medical services grants. As a continuing appropriation, the amounts in the schedule for grants to municipalities to improve or expand emergency medical services under s. 256.42.

AB387-AA2,1r Section 1r. 256.42 of the statutes is created to read:

AB387-AA2,2,5 256.42 Emergency medical services grants. (1) In this section, “municipality” means a city, village, or town.

AB387-AA2,2,9 (2) From the appropriation under s. 20.435 (1) (ck), the department shall award grants each fiscal year to municipalities to improve or expand emergency medical services. From the moneys appropriated each fiscal year, the department shall do all of the following:

AB387-AA2,2,11 (a) Award 25 percent to municipalities to support the development of 24-7 paid service models in accordance with criteria developed by the department.

AB387-AA2,2,14 (b) Award the remaining amount using a formula consisting of a base amount, determined by the department, for each municipality, plus a supplemental amount based on the population of the municipality.”.
