1An Act to amend 20.370 (4) (mw) of the statutes; relating to: Department of
2Natural Resources PFAS program funding and making an appropriation. Analysis by the Legislative Reference Bureau
This bill appropriates a total of $132,282,956 from the segregated PFAS fund to the Department of Natural Resources for the following purposes: $1,619,456 for general operations related to PFAS within DNR’s fish, wildlife, and parks program; $79,522,500 for a new PFAS community grant program; $5,250,000 for a new airport PFAS grant program; $35,000,000 for the well compensation grant program; and $10,891,000 for required activities relating to PFAS for which funding is not otherwise provided.
The bill also appropriates a total of $1,310,400 from the general fund to existing DNR appropriations for the following purposes: $118,900 for general program operations relating to conservation, the Lower Wisconsin State Riverway, and management of the state’s fishery resources and the trapper education program; $929,900 for the management and protection of the state’s water resources and for environmental quality and environmental management purposes; and $261,600 for communications, customer services, aids administration, watershed management, and environmental analysis and sustainability.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

1Section 1. 20.370 (4) (mw) of the statutes is amended to read: SB127-SSA2,2,6220.370 (4) (mw) General program operations - PFAS. From the PFAS fund, as 3a continuing appropriation, the amounts in the schedule for addressing and 4preventing perfluoroalkyl and polyfluoroalkyl substances contamination in this 5state activities required under 2025 Wisconsin Act .... (2025 Senate Bill 6128/Assembly Bill 131) for which moneys are not otherwise appropriated. SB127-SSA2,2,98(1) If neither 2025 Senate Bill 128 nor 2025 Assembly Bill 131 is enacted in 9the 2025-26 legislative session, then this act is void. SB127-SSA2,2,1311(1) In the schedule under s. 20.005 (3) for the appropriation to the department 12of natural resources under s. 20.370 (1) (ma), the dollar amount for fiscal year 2026-1327 is increased by $118,900 for the purpose for which the appropriation is made.
