SENATE AMENDMENT 1, TO SENATE BILL 414

SB414-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB414-SA1,1,2 1. Page 2, line 15: after “(a)” insert “1.”.

SB414-SA1,1,4 2. Page 2, line 16: delete the material beginning with “possession” and ending with “public” on line 17 and substitute “possession”.

SB414-SA1,1,6 3. Page 2, line 18: delete “adoption. The” and substitute “adoption if all of the following apply:

SB414-SA1,1,7 a. The dog or cat does not pose a health or safety risk to the public.

SB414-SA1,1,10 b. For an animal testing facility, the animal testing facility’s attending veterinarian determines that the dog or cat is suitable for adoption, considering the welfare of the dog or cat.

SB414-SA1,2,10 “(d) An animal testing facility or breeder may offer to transfer ownership and custody of a retired dog or cat to a person for private placement in the person's permanent adoptive home according to an arrangement agreed to by the animal testing facility or breeder and the person.”.

(2). These records shall be retained for at least 12 months after the transfer, adoption, or sale.
