ENROLLED JOINT RESOLUTION
Relating to: congratulating the Greendale High School Marching Band on winning the Wisconsin School Music Association State Marching Band Championship for the 20th consecutive year.
Whereas, on October 18, 2025, the Greendale High School Marching Band’s performance of “Snow Angel” received the highest score across all four classes at the Wisconsin School Music Association State Marching Band Championship; and
Whereas, “Snow Angel” featured music from Disney’s Frozen II, Beyoncé, and Frank Ticheli’s “Angels in the Architecture”; and
Whereas, the band also received at the competition awards for Best Music, Best Visuals, and Best Percussion; and
Whereas, the band has won the state championship for 20 consecutive years, meaning that the students performing in the band this year were not yet born the last time the Greendale High School Marching Band lost the state championship; and
Whereas, in November 2025, the band will perform “Snow Angel” in competition at the Bands of America Grand National Championships in Indianapolis; and
Whereas, the Greendale High School Marching Band will be the first high school band ever to perform two times in both the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the Tournament of Roses Parade over a 10-year period; and
Whereas, nearly 200 students participate in the Greendale High School Marching Band, which constitutes almost 20 percent of the total student body; and
Whereas, band director Tom Reifenberg has led the Greendale High School Marching Band since 2001 and teaches a variety of band and music classes at Greendale High School; he is also the cofounder and musical director of the Greendale Community Theatre; and
Whereas, Greendale Marching Band students and families volunteer to support local fundraising activities to give back to the community; now, therefore, be it
Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the Wisconsin Legislature congratulates the Greendale High School Marching Band on winning first place in Class AA at the Wisconsin School Music Association State Marching Band Championship for the 20th consecutive year.
