Senator Wimberger, with unanimous consent, asked that the Senate adjourn in honor of 250th birthday of the United States Marine Corps, a milestone reached on November 10th, 2025. Founded in 1775 at, the Marine Corps has remained steadfast as a symbol of courage, discipline, and unwavering devotion to our Nation. For two and a half centuries, Marines have answered the call to defend liberty from the halls of Montezuma in Mexico, the shores of Tripoli, Iwo Jima, to present day Iraq and Afghanistan. When future conflicts arise, we know the US Marine Corps will stand tall and hesitate not while representing our Nation. Honor, courage, and commitment are the base values of each Marine. Quoting Ronald Reagan, “Some people spend an entire lifetime wondering if they made a difference in the world. But the Marines don’t have that problem.” As we recognize this 250th birthday, we honor all who have worn the eagle, globe, and anchor. We remember the fallen, we thank the living, and we acknowledge the enduring spirit of the Marine Corps a brotherhood and sisterhood bound by service and sacrifice, embodying its DNA of: Once a Marine, always a Marine.
