AJR116,1,64Whereas, on October 18, 2025, the Greendale High School Marching Band’s 5performance of “Snow Angel” received the highest score across all four classes at the 6Wisconsin School Music Association State Marching Band Championship; and AJR116,1,87Whereas, “Snow Angel” featured music from Disney’s Frozen II, Beyoncé, and 8Frank Ticheli’s “Angels in the Architecture”; and AJR116,1,109Whereas, the band also received at the competition awards for Best Music, 10Best Visuals, and Best Percussion; and AJR116,1,1411Whereas, the band has won the state championship for 20 consecutive years, 12meaning that the students performing in the band this year were not yet born the 13last time the Greendale High School Marching Band lost the state championship; 14and AJR116,2,3
1Whereas, in November 2025, the band will perform “Snow Angel” in 2competition at the Bands of America Grand National Championships in 3Indianapolis; and AJR116,2,64Whereas, the Greendale High School Marching Band will be the first high 5school band ever to perform two times in both the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 6and the Tournament of Roses Parade over a 10-year period; and AJR116,2,87Whereas, nearly 200 students participate in the Greendale High School 8Marching Band, which constitutes almost 20 percent of the total student body; and AJR116,2,129Whereas, band director Tom Reifenberg has led the Greendale High School 10Marching Band since 2001 and teaches a variety of band and music classes at 11Greendale High School; he is also the cofounder and musical director of the 12Greendale Community Theatre; and AJR116,2,1513Whereas, Greendale Marching Band students and families volunteer to 14support local fundraising activities to give back to the community; now, therefore, 15be it AJR116,2,1916Resolved by the assembly, the senate concurring, That the Wisconsin 17Legislature congratulates the Greendale High School Marching Band on winning 18first place in Class AA at the Wisconsin School Music Association State Marching 19Band Championship for the 20th consecutive year.
