AJR92,1,42Whereas, the history of the U.S. Marine Corps began with a vote taken by the
3Continental Congress on November 10, 1775, to raise two battalions of marines for
4service during the American Revolutionary War; and
AJR92,1,65Whereas, the U.S. Marine Corps thus celebrates November 10 as its official
6birthday; and
AJR92,1,87Whereas, November 10, 2025, will be the U.S. Marine Corps’s 250th birthday;

AJR92,1,119Whereas, in celebration of this historic date, we recognize the U.S. Marine
10Corps for its valiant and unwavering service to our country, constitution, and
11liberties for the past 250 years; and
AJR92,1,1312Whereas, over 165,000 active-duty marines are currently stationed around the
13world to courageously defend our nation with unparalleled devotion; and
AJR92,2,314Whereas, hundreds of marines have trained at Fort McCoy in Monroe County,

1where many hone their skills in live-fire exercises, medical training, and other
2activities, while some brave few demonstrate their remarkable grit in the Cold
3Weather Operations Course; and

5Semper Fidelis, “always faithful,” in their service to our nation and ideals; and

7marines, veterans, and civilians for their sacrifices made in the name of the United
