SJR111,1,43Whereas, Cybersecurity Awareness Month has been observed annually in the 4United States of America since 2003; and SJR111,1,65Whereas, technology usage has grown to be an integral part of the personal, 6professional, and educational lives of Wisconsinites; and SJR111,1,87Whereas, the growth of technology use has led to a rise of phishing scams, 8identity theft, and fraud; and SJR111,1,109Whereas, victimization from internet scams may lead to data breaches, 10financial losses, and personal damage; and SJR111,1,1211Whereas, one of the most effective safeguards against technology attacks is an 12informed user; and SJR111,2,213Whereas, the Legislative Technology Service Bureau works diligently to
1protect the Wisconsin State Legislature from cybersecurity threats; now, therefore, 2be it SJR111,2,53Resolved by the senate, the assembly concurring, That the Wisconsin 4State Legislature proclaims October 2025 and October 2026 as Cybersecurity 5Awareness Month in Wisconsin.
