Rule Information
These rules will revise migratory bird hunting seasons and regulations in response to revisions to a federal framework which will be established by the U.S. fish and wildlife service. Federal revisions may include modifications to duck and goose hunting season lengths and dates, bag limits, and other regulations. At the time this hearing notice was published, the service has not finalized the season frameworks that will be available to the states. Early teal and mourning dove hunting seasons and regulations are known and are described in the rule order. Additional migratory bird hunting season modifications include possible changes to duck and goose hunting regulations and that information will be available prior to these hearings on the department’s website and at the hearing locations. Waterfowl hunting season information for 2015 will be located on the department’s website at http://dnr.wi.gov/ and by searching for the key words “waterfowl hunting”.
Under international treaty and Federal law, migratory game bird seasons are closed unless opened annually via the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) regulations process.
