STATE GRANT PROGRAMS
PI 38, WISCONSIN ADMINISTRATIVE CODE
On January 26, 2018, the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction submitted a proposed rule to the Wisconsin Legislative Council Rules Clearinghouse.
The scope statement for this rule, SS 122-17, was published in Register No. 743B, on November 27, 2017, and approved by State Superintendent Tony Evers on January 3, 2018. Pursuant to Coyne v. Walker, the Department of Public Instruction is not required to obtain the Governor’s approval for the statement of scope for this rule. Coyne v. Walker, 368 Wis.2d 444.
The proposed rule amends PI 38, relating to technical changes to grants for tribal language revitalization as a result of 2017 Wisconsin Act 59.
The rules are being adopted under s. 227.16 (2) (b), Stats., which provides that rulemaking does not need to be preceded by notice and public hearing if the proposed rule brings an existing rule into conformity with a statute that has been changed.
The Division for Academic Excellence within the Department of Public Instruction is primarily responsible for promulgation of this rule. If you have questions or comments regarding this rule, you may contact Carl Bryan, Administrative Rules Coordinator, at adminrules@dpi.wi.gov or (608) 267-9127.
