NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
CHAPTER PI 36
PUBLIC SCHOOL INTER-DISTRICT OPEN ENROLLMENT
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to s. 227.11 (2) (a) (intro.), Stats., and interpreting s. 118.51, Stats., the Department of Public Instruction will hold a public hearing as required under s. 227.16, Stats., to consider the promulgation of Clearinghouse Rule 19-081 and Emergency Rule 1910, amending PI 36 relating to financial statements for special education services under open enrollment. The hearing will be held as follows:
Date and Time: Friday, July 26, 2019, from 2:00 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
Location: GEF 3 Building, Room 041, 125 S Webster St., Madison, WI 53703
The objective of the emergency and proposed permanent rule under this statement of scope will describe the eligible special education costs that may be reported on the financial statement, as well as provide timelines for the submission of the financial statement to the department.

Due to security upgrades at the GEF 3 building, those who plan to attend the hearing are required to present photo identification at the security desk near the Webster Street entrance.

Appearances at the Hearing and Submittal of Written Comments
Interested persons are invited to appear at the hearing and will be afforded the opportunity to make a presentation of their position on the proposed rule orally or in writing. The purpose of this hearing to consider public testimony on the proposed rules under consideration. Questions or comments about the rules under consideration may be posed and will be duly recorded.
Individuals who are unable to attend the hearing but would like to submit written comments may do so via the Department’s form for submitting comment at https://forms.gle/DPC9QQa4hUnzU1C88. Questions or additional testimony may be accepted by using the contact information below. Written comments on the proposed rules received no later than August 2, 2019, will be given the same consideration as testimony presented at the hearing.
