Notice of Submittal of Proposed Rule to
Legislative Council Rules Clearinghouse
On September 22, 2020, the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources submitted a proposed rule to the Wisconsin Legislative Council Rules Clearinghouse pursuant to s. 227.15 (1), Wis. Stats. Analysis
The proposed rules affect chapters NR 130, 131, 132 and 182, relating to nonferrous metallic mineral exploration and bulk sampling, prospecting, mining and mining waste management. Each of the chapters are being repealed and recreated to correct inconsistencies with the existing statutes, bring the rules up to date with current technology and regulatory approaches, and improve overall clarity and effectiveness.
Statement of Scope
The scope statement for this rule, SS 099-18, was approved by the Governor on August 23, 2018, published in Register No. 752B, on August 27, 2018, and approved by Natural Resources Board on February 27, 2019. Agency Procedure for Promulgation
A public hearing is required and will be conducted as a virtual hearing on October 22, 2020.
