NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that pursuant to s. 227.11 (2) (a) (intro.), Stats., the Department of Public Instruction will hold a public hearing as required under s. 227.16, Stats., to consider the promulgation of the following proposed permanent rules:
Clearinghouse Rule 20-072, amending PI 11 relating to relating to sensory impairment terminology and deafblindness. The proposed rule updates terminology and eligibility criteria for pupils that are blind and visually impaired and pupils that are deaf and hard of hearing and recognizes deafblindness as an additional area of impairment.
Clearinghouse Rule 20-073, amending PI 11 relating to relating to emotional behavior disability criteria. This proposed rule updates criteria in identifying pupils that have an emotional behavior disability in order to recognize current knowledge and best practices and to properly address student needs
Clearinghouse Rule 20-074, amending PI 11 relating to speech and language impairment criteria. This proposed rule updates criteria relating to identifying pupils that have a speech or language impairment in order to properly address student needs.
