Notice of Submittal to Legislature for Wisconsin’s Proposed Regional Haze
State Implementation Plan Revision for the Second Implementation Period
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) submitted to the standing committees of the legislature with jurisdiction over environmental matters under s. 13.172 (3), Wis. Stats., a report describing DNR’s proposal to submit a revision to Wisconsin’s State Implementation Plan (SIP) for air quality to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This SIP submittal fulfills the federal Regional Haze Rule’s requirements in 40 CFR § 51.308(f) to continue to meet reasonable progress goals over the period from 2018-2028 to ensure that the mandatory Class I Federal areas that Wisconsin impacts achieve natural visibility conditions by the year 2064.
