1995 WISCONSIN ACT 122
An Act to create 167.31 (4) (a) 4. of the statutes; relating to: the placement, possession, transportation, loading or discharge of a firearm by certain private security persons and granting rule-making authority.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

Section 1
. 167.31 (4) (a) 4. of the statutes is created to read:
167.31 (4) (a) 4. A private security person, as defined in s. 440.26 (1m), who meets all of the following requirements:
a. He or she holds either a private detective license issued under s. 440.26 (2) (a) 2. or a private security permit issued under s. 440.26 (5).
b. He or she holds a certificate of proficiency to carry a firearm issued by the department of regulation and licensing.
c. He or she is performing his or her assigned duties or responsibilities.
d. He or she is wearing a uniform that clearly identifies him or her as a private security person.
e. His or her firearm is in plain view, as defined by rule by the department of regulation and licensing.

Initial applicability.
(1) This act first applies to private security persons who place, possess, transport, load or discharge a firearm as provided in section 167.31 (4) (a) (intro.) of the statutes on the effective date of this subsection.
