1995 WISCONSIN ACT 388
An Act to amend 20.866 (2) (ux) of the statutes; and to affect 1995 Wisconsin Act 27, section 9108 (7); relating to: the funding of a prison expansion project under the state building program and granting bonding authority.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
388,1 Section 1 . 20.866 (2) (ux) of the statutes, as affected by 1995 Wisconsin Act 27, is amended to read:
20.866 (2) (ux) Corrections; correctional facilities. From the capital improvement fund, a sum sufficient for the department of corrections to acquire, construct, develop, enlarge or improve adult and juvenile correctional facilities. The state may contract public debt in an amount not to exceed $465,087,500 $480,087,500 for this purpose.
388,2 Section 2 . 1995 Wisconsin Act 27, section 9108 (7) is repealed.
388,3 Section 3. Nonstatutory provisions; building commission.
(1) 1995-97 State building program; increase in prison expansion project borrowing authority. In 1995 Wisconsin Act 27, section 9108 (1) (b) 1., under projects financed by general fund supported borrowing, the amount authorized for the prison expansion project is increased from $25,000,000 to $40,000,000 and the appropriate totals are adjusted accordingly.
(2) 1995-97 State building program deletion; federal funding for prison expansion project. In 1995 Wisconsin Act 27, section 9108 (1) (b) 3., under projects financed by federal funds, the 1995-97 state building program project identified as prison expansion project is deleted and the appropriate totals are decreased accordingly.
388,4 Section 4 . Nonstatutory provisions; corrections.
(1) Federal funding for prison expansion project. The department of corrections shall seek to identify and secure federal funding for the project identified in 1995 Wisconsin Act 27, section 9108 (1) (b) 1., as “Prison expansion project".
