1997 WISCONSIN ACT 106
An Act to renumber 86.303 (5) (a); to amend 84.01 (16), 86.303 (5) (f) (intro.) and 86.303 (5) (i) (intro.); and to create 86.303 (5) (ag) of the statutes; relating to: the method of determining reductions in general transportation aids for late filing of applications for such aid.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:

Section 1. 84.01 (16) of the statutes is amended to read:
84.01 (16) (title) Notice of
county estimated transportation aid. Annually, not later than June 30 October 1, the department shall notify each county
and municipal clerk of the estimated transportation aid to the county or municipality for the following calendar year.

Section 1m. 86.303 (5) (a) of the statutes is renumbered 86.303 (5) (am).

Section 2
. 86.303 (5) (ag) of the statutes is created to read:
86.303 (5) (ag) In this subsection, “working day" has the meaning given in s. 227.01 (14).

. 86.303 (5) (f) (intro.) of the statutes is amended to read:
86.303 (5) (f) (intro.) If a county or municipality submits a substantially complete and accurate financial report form within 30 calendar days after the applicable date under par. (c) or (d), the aids payable to the county or municipality for the following year shall be reduced by an amount equal to one percent 1% of the aids payable to the county or municipality for the following year for each working day after the date required in par. (c) or (d) that the report form is actually submitted, subject to the following limitations:

. 86.303 (5) (i) (intro.) of the statutes is amended to read:
86.303 (5) (i) (intro.) If a county or municipality under par. (g) submits the financial reports required under par. (g) within 30 calendar days after July 31, the aids payable to the county or municipality for the following year shall be reduced by an amount equal to 1% of the aids payable to the county or municipality for the following year for each working day after July 31 that the report form is actually submitted, subject to the following limitations:

Initial applicability.
(1) This act first applies to filings in 1998 for aid payable in 1999.
