1999 WISCONSIN ACT 108
An Act to amend 45.397 (2) (a) of the statutes; relating to: schools eligible for veteran retraining grants and making appropriations.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
108,1 Section 1. 45.397 (2) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
45.397 (2) (a) The veteran is enrolled in a training course in a technical college under ch. 38 or in a proprietary school approved by the educational approval board under s. 45.54, other than a proprietary school offering a 4-year degree or 4-year programs, or is engaged in a structured on-the-job training program that meets program requirements promulgated by the department by rule.
108,2 Section 2. Nonstatutory provisions.
(1) The authorized FTE positions for the department of veterans affairs from the appropriation under section 20.485 (2) (v) of the statutes is decreased by 1.0 PR position on the effective date of this subsection, for the purpose of managing the Wisconsin veterans museum.
(2) The authorized FTE positions for the department of veterans affairs from the appropriation under section 20.485 (4) (m) of the statutes is increased by 1.0 FED position on the effective date of this subsection, for the purpose of providing care and operation of the Southeastern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
108,3 Section 3. Appropriation changes; veterans affairs.
(1) In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of veterans affairs under section 20.485 (2) (wd) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 1999, the dollar amount is increased by $16,000 for fiscal year 1999-2000 and the dollar amount is increased by $47,700 for fiscal year 2000-01 to increase the authorized FTE positions by 1.0 SEG position on the effective date of this subsection, for the purpose of managing the Wisconsin veterans museum.
(2) In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of veterans affairs under section 20.485 (4) (q) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 1999, the dollar amount is decreased by $9,100 for fiscal year 1999-2000 and the dollar amount is decreased by $27,300 for fiscal year 2000-01 to decrease the authorized FTE positions by 1.0 SEG position on the effective date of this subsection, for the purpose of providing care and operation of the Southeastern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
(3) In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of veterans affairs under section 20.485 (4) (g) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 1999, the dollar amount is decreased by $29,900 in fiscal year 1999-2000 and the dollar amount is decreased by $87,700 in fiscal year 2000-01 to decrease the authorized FTE positions by 2.5 PR positions on the effective date of this subsection for the purpose of providing care and operation of the Southeastern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
(4) In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of veterans affairs under section 20.485 (4) (q) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 1999, the dollar amount is increased by $29,900 for fiscal year 1999-2000 and the dollar amount is increased by $87,700 for fiscal year 2000-01 to increase the authorized FTE positions by 2.5 SEG positions on the effective date of this subsection for the purpose of providing care and operation of the Southeastern Wisconsin Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
(5) In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of veterans affairs under section 20.485 (2) (tm) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 1999, the dollar amount is increased by $725,000 for fiscal year 2000-01, for the purpose of planning the establishment and administration of a skilled nursing facility at the southeastern Wisconsin veterans facility.
(6) In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of veterans affairs under section 20.485 (1) (gk) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 1999, the dollar amount is increased by $1,134,800 for fiscal year 2000-01 to increase the authorized FTE positions by 23.0 PR positions on the effective date of this subsection, for the purpose of operating and providing care at the Southern Wisconsin Veterans Retirement Center.
(7) In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the department of veterans affairs under section 20.485 (2) (tj) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 1999, the dollar amount is increased by $90,000 for fiscal year 2000-01 for the purpose of providing retraining grants to veterans enrolled in a training course at a proprietary school.
