1999 WISCONSIN ACT 61
An Act to amend 45.054 of the statutes; relating to: contributions for a World War II memorial in Washington, D.C.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
61,1 Section 1. 45.054 of the statutes, as created by 1999 Wisconsin Act 2, section 5, is amended to read:
45.054 World War II memorial. The department of veterans affairs may accept contributions of money as gifts on behalf of Wisconsin veterans for the construction of a World War II memorial to be located in Washington, D.C. The moneys received under this section shall be deposited in the general fund and credited to the appropriation account under s. 20.485 (2) (gd). The department may not accept any contributions under this section after April 30 May 10, 2000. From the appropriation under s. 20.485 (2) (dm), the department shall match any moneys received under this section, up to a maximum of $166,100. The department shall pay that match amount plus the moneys credited to the appropriation account under s. 20.485 (2) (gd) to the American Battle Monuments Commission by May 15 20, 2000, for the construction of a memorial on federal land in the District of Columbia to honor members of the U.S. armed forces who served in World War II.
