2007 WISCONSIN ACT 28
An Act to amend 753.06 (5) (b), 753.06 (6) (c), 753.06 (7) (h), 753.06 (10) (am), 753.06 (10) (d) and 753.06 (10) (k) of the statutes; and to affect 2007 Wisconsin Act 20, section 9107 (1j); relating to: adding a circuit court branch in Barron, Chippewa, Dodge, Green, Monroe, and St. Croix counties, and making an appropriation.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do enact as follows:
28,1 Section 1. 753.06 (5) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:
753.06 (5) (b) Green County. The circuit has one branch. Commencing August 1, 2009, the circuit has 2 branches.
28,2 Section 2. 753.06 (6) (c) of the statutes is amended to read:
753.06 (6) (c) Dodge County. The circuit has 3 branches. Commencing August 1, 2008, the circuit has 4 branches.
28,4 Section 4. 753.06 (7) (h) of the statutes is amended to read:
753.06 (7) (h) Monroe County. The circuit has 2 branches. Commencing August 1, 2010, the circuit has 3 branches.
28,5 Section 5. 753.06 (10) (am) of the statutes is amended to read:
753.06 (10) (am) Barron County. The circuit has 2 branches. Commencing August 1, 2008, the circuit has 3 branches.
28,6 Section 6. 753.06 (10) (d) of the statutes is amended to read:
753.06 (10) (d) Chippewa County. The circuit has 2 branches. Commencing August 1, 2008, the circuit has 3 branches.
28,7 Section 7. 753.06 (10) (k) of the statutes is amended to read:
753.06 (10) (k) St. Croix County. The circuit has 3 branches. Commencing August 1, 2008, the circuit has 4 branches.
28,7m Section 7m. 2007 Wisconsin Act 20, section 9107 (1j) is amended to read:
[2007 Wisconsin Act 20] Section 9107 (1j) Circuit judge election. The initial election for circuit judge for branch 8 of the circuit court for Kenosha County shall be at the spring election of 2009 for terms commencing August 1, 2009, and ending July 31, 2015.
28,8 Section 8. Nonstatutory provisions.
(1) The initial election for circuit judge for branch 2 of the circuit court for Green County shall be at the spring election of 2009 for terms commencing August 1, 2009, and ending July 31, 2015.
(2) The initial election for circuit judge for branch 4 of the circuit court for Dodge County shall be at the spring election of 2008 for terms commencing August 1, 2008, and ending July 31, 2014.
(4) The initial election for circuit judge for branch 3 of the circuit court for Monroe County shall be at the spring election of 2010 for terms commencing August 1, 2010, and ending July 31, 2016.
(5) The initial election for circuit judge for branch 3 of the circuit court for Barron County shall be at the spring election of 2008 for terms commencing August 1, 2008, and ending July 31, 2014.
(6) The initial election for circuit judge for branch 3 of the circuit court for Chippewa County shall be at the spring election of 2008 for terms commencing August 1, 2008, and ending July 31, 2014.
(7) The initial election for circuit judge for branch 4 of the circuit court for St. Croix County shall be at the spring election of 2008 for terms commencing August 1, 2008, and ending July 31, 2014.
(8) The authorized FTE positions for the circuit courts are increased by 4.0 GPR circuit judge positions on August 1, 2008, to be funded from the appropriation under section 20.625 (1) (a) of the statutes, to provide 4 additional circuit court judges for the circuit court branches created by this act in Dodge, Barron, Chippewa, and St. Croix counties.
(9) The authorized FTE positions for the circuit courts are increased by 4.0 GPR court reporter positions on August 1, 2008, to be funded from the appropriation under section 20.625 (1) (a) of the statutes, to provide 4 court reporters for the circuit court branches created by this act in Dodge, Barron, Chippewa, and St. Croix counties.
(10) The authorized FTE positions for the circuit courts are increased by 1.0 GPR circuit judge position on August 1, 2010, to be funded from the appropriation under section 20.625 (1) (a) of the statutes, to provide one circuit court judge for the Monroe County circuit court branch created by this act.
(11) The authorized FTE positions for the circuit courts are increased by 1.0 GPR court reporter position on August 1, 2010, to be funded from the appropriation under section 20.625 (1) (a) of the statutes, to provide one court reporter for the Monroe County circuit court branch created by this act.
(12g) The authorized FTE positions for the circuit courts are increased by 1.0 GPR circuit judge position on August 1, 2009, to be funded from the appropriation under section 20.625 (1) (a) of the statutes, to provide one circuit court judge for the Green County circuit court branch created by this act.
(12m) The authorized FTE positions for the circuit courts are increased by 1.0 GPR court reporter position on August 1, 2009, to be funded from the appropriation under section 20.625 (1) (a) of the statutes, to provide one court reporter for the Green County circuit court branch created by this act.
28,9m Section 9m.0 Fiscal changes.
(1) Law Library. In the schedule under section 20.005 (3) of the statutes for the appropriation to the supreme court under section 20.680 (4) (a) of the statutes, as affected by the acts of 2007, the dollar amount is increased by $9,000 for fiscal year 2008-09 for the purpose for which the appropriation is made.
