Applicability. This chapter applies to all air contaminant sources which emit carbon monoxide and to their owners and operators.

(2) Purpose. This chapter is adopted under
ss. 285.11,
285.13 and
285.17, Stats., to categorize carbon monoxide air contaminant sources and to establish emission limitations for these sources in order to protect air quality.

NR 426.02 Definitions. The definitions contained in
ch. NR 400 apply to the terms used in this chapter.

NR 426.03
NR 426.03 General limitations. No person may cause, allow or permit emissions of carbon monoxide to the ambient air which substantially contribute to the exceeding of an air standard or cause air pollution.

NR 426.04
NR 426.04 Cupola emission limitations. No person may cause, allow or permit significant emissions of carbon monoxide from any cupola the construction or modification of which commenced after April 1, 1972 to be emitted to the ambient air unless such emissions are incinerated at 1,300
°F for 0.3 second, or reduced by some other means an equivalent amount. Compliance with this limitation shall be shown to the department on initial startup of the source.
