AB219-ASA1,1,2 1An Act to repeal 799.25 (11) and 814.63 (2); and to amend 66.12 (3) (a), 814.63
2(4) and 814.65 (1) of the statutes; relating to: fees in municipal court.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB219-ASA1, s. 1 3Section 1. 66.12 (3) (a) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB219-ASA1,1,54 66.12 (3) (a) Fees in forfeiture actions in circuit court for violations of
5ordinances are prescribed in s. 814.63 (1) and (2).
AB219-ASA1, s. 2 6Section 2. 799.25 (11) of the statutes is repealed.
AB219-ASA1, s. 3 7Section 3. 814.63 (2) of the statutes is repealed.
AB219-ASA1, s. 4 8Section 4. 814.63 (4) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB219-ASA1,1,139 814.63 (4) In forfeiture actions in which a county, town, city, village or public
10inland lake protection and rehabilitation district prevails, costs and disbursements
11shall be allowed to the county, town, city, village or public inland lake protection and
12rehabilitation district subject only to sub. (2) and such other any limitation as that
13the court may direct.
AB219-ASA1, s. 5 14Section 5. 814.65 (1) of the statutes is amended to read:

1814.65 (1) Court costs. In a municipal court action, except an action for
2violation of an ordinance in conformity with s. 347.48 (2m), the municipal judge shall
3collect a fee of $15 $23 on each separate matter, whether it is on default of
4appearance, a plea of guilty or no contest, on issuance of a warrant or summons or
5the action is tried as a contested matter. Of each $15 $23 fee received by the judge
6under this subsection, the municipal treasurer shall pay monthly one-third $5 to the
7state treasurer for deposit in the general fund and shall retain the balance for the
8use of the municipality.
