AB634-ASA1,1,4 1An Act to amend 29.093 (2) (f) and 29.227 (1) (d); and to create 29.225 (4) (am)
2of the statutes; relating to: hunting of antlerless deer by certain holders of
3certificates of accomplishment issued under the hunter education and firearm
4safety program.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB634-ASA1, s. 1 5Section 1. 29.093 (2) (f) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB634-ASA1,1,126 29.093 (2) (f) Certificate of accomplishment. Except as provided under s. 29.227
7(1) (d), a certificate of accomplishment issued under s. 29.225 is valid for the hunting
8of small game in place of a small game hunting license from the date of issuance until
9March 31 of the following year and is valid for the hunting of one antlerless deer if
10authorized by the department under s. 29.225 (4) (am), during the deer hunting
11season following the date of issuance of the certificate or the date the holder of the
12certificate becomes 12 years of age, whichever is later

AB634-ASA1, s. 2 13Section 2. 29.225 (4) (am) of the statutes is created to read:

129.225 (4) (am) The department may allow a person to whom it issues a
2certificate of accomplishment to take one antlerless deer in specific areas identified
3by the department. The authorization for group deer hunting under s. 29.405 shall
4not apply to a person hunting an antlerless deer as authorized under this paragraph.
AB634-ASA1, s. 3 5Section 3. 29.227 (1) (d) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB634-ASA1,2,96 29.227 (1) (d) Restrictions on validity of certificate of accomplishment. A person
7under 12 years of age may obtain a certificate of accomplishment if he or she complies
8with the requirements of s. 29.225 (4) but that certificate is not valid for the hunting
9of small game or of an antlerless deer until that person becomes 12 years of age.
