4"(b) Nothing in this section prohibits a political subdivision from continuing to
5enforce an ordinance or resolution that is in effect on the effective date of this
6paragraph .... [revisor inserts date], that regulates the sale, purchase, purchase
7delay, transfer, ownership, use, keeping, possession, bearing, transportation,
8licensing, permitting, registration or taxation of any firearm or part of a firearm,
9including ammunition and reloader components, and that is not the same as or
10similar to a state statute, up until the date of the next spring or general election that
11is held after the effective date of this paragraph .... [revisor inserts date], except that,
12if the existing ordinance or resolution is approved in a referendum that is held in the
13political subdivision at that next spring or general election, the political subdivision
14may continue to enforce the ordinance or resolution after the date of the election.
15The ballot question shall be "Shall the [name of political subdivision] continue to
1enforce the [ordinance or resolution] which does the following: "[text or summary of
2the ordinance or resolution]?""
