AB814-ASA1,1,3 1An Act to amend 5.15 (2) (b) 3. and 5.15 (2) (b) 4.; and to create 5.15 (2) (b) 5.
2of the statutes; relating to: minimum population requirements for wards in
3certain municipalities.
The people of the state of Wisconsin, represented in senate and assembly, do
enact as follows:
AB814-ASA1, s. 1 4Section 1. 5.15 (2) (b) 3. of the statutes is amended to read:
AB814-ASA1,1,75 5.15 (2) (b) 3. In any city, village or town in which the population is at least
610,000 but less than 39,000, each ward shall contain not less than 600 300 nor more
7than 2,100 inhabitants.
AB814-ASA1, s. 2 8Section 2. 5.15 (2) (b) 4. of the statutes is amended to read:
AB814-ASA1,1,129 5.15 (2) (b) 4. In any city, village or town in which the population is less than
1010,000, if any portion of the city or village is located in, or if the town is located in,
11a county having a population of 25,000 or more,
each ward shall contain not less than
12300 200 nor more than 1,000 inhabitants.

15.15 (2) (b) 5. In any city, village or town in which the population is less than
210,000, if no portion of the city or village is located in, or if the town is not located in,
3a county having a population of 25,000 or more, each ward shall contain not less than
4100 nor more than 1,000 inhabitants.

AB814-ASA1,2,7 6(1)  This act first applies with respect to decennial ward plans adopted in
7response to the 2000 decennial census of population.
