SENATE AMENDMENT 1, To 1995 SENATE BILL 445

SB445-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB445-SA1,1,3 1. Page 2, line 11: delete "If" and substitute: "1. Except as provided in subd. 2. and sub (8), if".

SB445-SA1,1,4 2. Page 2, line 13: delete the period.

SB445-SA1,1,6 3. Page 2, line 14: delete that line and substitute: "and shall implement the program statewide".

SB445-SA1,1,7 4. Page 2, line 15: delete "counties".

SB445-SA1,1,11 5. Page 3, line 2: after the period insert: "The department shall explore methods by which nontraditional retailers, such as farmers' markets, may participate in the delivery of food stamp benefits under the electronic benefit transfer system.

SB445-SA1,1,13 2. The department need not implement a program to deliver food stamp benefits by an electronic benefit transfer system if any of the following applies:

SB445-SA1,1,15 a. The department determines that the cost of the electronic benefit transfer system would be greater than the cost of another food stamp delivery system.

SB445-SA1,2,2 b. The department determines that the state may be liable under 12 CFR 205 for lost or stolen benefits.".

SB445-SA1,2,5 7. Page 3, line 17: delete "and state" and substitute ", state and tribal governing body".
