SB541-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB541-AA1,1,2 1. Page 1, line 4: after "highways" insert "and providing a penalty".

SB541-AA1,1,3 2. Page 2, line 1: before that line insert:

SB541-AA1,1,4 " Section 1g. 343.30 (1n) of the statutes is amended to read:

SB541-AA1,1,13 343.30 (1n) A court shall suspend the operating privilege of a person for a period of 15 days upon the person's conviction by the court of exceeding the applicable speed limit as established by s. 346.57 (4) (gm), (gr) or (h), by 25 or more miles per hour. If the conviction makes the person subject to revocation under s. 343.32 or suspension or revocation under s. 343.085, the court shall immediately suspend the license, taking possession of the license and shall forward it to the department which shall proceed to act as authorized under s. 343.32 or 343.085, but any revocation or suspension by the secretary shall date from the day the court took possession of the license.".

SB541-AA1,2,2 4. Page 2, line 4: after "highway" insert: "that is not an interstate highway and".

SB541-AA1,2,5 6. Page 2, line 10: after that line insert:

SB541-AA1,2,6 " Section 2m. 346.57 (1) (ao) of the statutes is created to read:

SB541-AA1,2,7 346.57 (1) (ao) "Interstate highway" has the meaning given in s. 84.30 (2) (f).".

SB541-AA1,2,8 7. Page 2, line 15: after that line insert:

SB541-AA1,2,9 " Section 3m. 346.57 (4) (gr) of the statutes is created to read:

SB541-AA1,2,10 346.57 (4) (gr) 70 miles per hour on any interstate highway.".

SB541-AA1,2,11 8. Page 2, line 17: after "(gm)" insert "or (gr)".

SB541-AA1,2,12 9. Page 2, line 21: after that line insert:

SB541-AA1,2,13 " Section 4m. 346.60 (2) (b) of the statutes is amended to read:

SB541-AA1,2,16 346.60 (2) (b) Except as provided in sub. (3m) or (5), any person violating s. 346.57 (4) (gm) or (gr) may be required to forfeit not less than $50 nor more than $300.".

SB541-AA1,2,17 10. Page 3, line 5: delete " ; or." and substitute "; or (gr).".

SB541-AA1,2,20 11. Page 3, line 12: delete lines 12 and 13 and substitute: "paragraph does not apply to expressways, as defined in s. 346.57 (1) (ag), freeways, as defined in s. 346.57 (1) (am), or interstate highways, as defined in s. 346.57 (1) (ao).".

SB541-AA1,2,21 12. Page 3, line 13: after that line insert:

SB541-AA1,2,22 " Section 8m. 349.11 (8) (intro.) of the statutes is amended to read:

SB541-AA1,3,3 349.11 (8) (intro.)  Notwithstanding the authority otherwise granted to modify speed restrictions in this section, except as provided in sub. (9) and s. 346.57 (4) (gm) or (gr), the department may not establish or continue:".
