SB563-AA7,1,21 At the locations indicated, amend the bill, as shown by senate substitute
2amendment 1, as follows:
SB563-AA7,1,4 31. Page 1, line 11: before "transferring" insert: "bulletproof garments for
4certain state traffic patrol officers;".
SB563-AA7,1,5 52. Page 3, line 21: after that line insert:
SB563-AA7,1,6 6" Section 3r. 110.07 (5) of the statutes is created to read:
SB563-AA7,1,87 110.07 (5) (a) In this subsection, "bulletproof garment" has the meaning given
8in s. 939.64 (1).
SB563-AA7,2,29 (b) Upon request of an officer of the state traffic patrol under sub. (1) whose
10duties under this section may include transporting prisoners, the department shall
11make available to the traffic officer a bulletproof garment that may be used in the
12performance of his or her duties under this section. The department shall equip a
13traffic officer with a bulletproof garment as soon as practicable after receipt of the
14request from the traffic officer under this paragraph, provided that each traffic

1officer who has made a request before September 1, 1997, shall be equipped with a
2bulletproof garment by that date.".
