SENATE AMENDMENT 1, To 1995 SENATE BILL 600

SB600-SA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB600-SA1,1,3 1. Page 1, line 2: before the period insert: "and designating STH 66 as the "Polish Heritage Memorial Highway"".

SB600-SA1,1,4 2. Page 2, line 9: after that line insert:

SB600-SA1,1,5 " Section 2m. 84.1048 of the statutes is created to read:

SB600-SA1,1,11 84.1048 Polish Heritage Memorial Highway. (1) In recognition of the outstanding contributions that Polish Americans have made to the vitality and quality of life in central Wisconsin, the department shall designate STH 66, commencing at Polonia and proceeding easterly to Rosholt, as the "Polish Heritage Memorial Highway" to commemorate and honor the achievements of central Wisconsin residents of Polish ancestry.

SB600-SA1,1,14 (2) Upon receipt of contributions totaling not less than $800 from interested parties, including any city, village, town or county, the department shall erect markers along STH 66 in the following locations:

SB600-SA1,1,16 (a) One marker at the west end of Polonia to clearly identify the designation of the route to motorists proceeding easterly.

SB600-SA1,2,2 (b) One marker at the east end of Rosholt to clearly identify the designation of the route to motorists proceeding westerly.

SB600-SA1,2,4 (3) No state funds may be used for the erection of any marker under this section.".
