SB602-AA3,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

SB602-AA3,1,2 1. Page 2, line 1: before that line insert:

SB602-AA3,1,3 " Section 1g. 84.02 (5) (p) of the statutes is created to read:

SB602-AA3,1,8 84.02 (5) (p) Upon publication of the folded highway maps, the department shall distribute without charge one of these maps to each inmate who is traveling to another state under s. 301.21 (1m). The department of corrections shall request the appropriate number of maps needed for a group of inmates that is traveling to another state before the group departs. The request may be written or oral.".

SB602-AA3,1,10 3. Page 3, line 4: after that line insert:

SB602-AA3,1,11 " Section 5m. 301.21 (1m) of the statutes is created to read:

SB602-AA3,2,2 301.21 (1m) If a group of inmates is to be transferred to another state or to a political subdivision of another state under a contract entered into under this section, the group of inmates shall walk, while joined together by a length of chain, from the prison in this state to the facility in which they will be confined under the contract. The inmates shall be provided with a folded highway map as provided under s. 84.02 (5) (p).".
