AB172-AA1,1,11 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:
AB172-AA1,1,2 21. Page 2, line 4: after that line insert:
AB172-AA1,1,3 3" Section 2d. 103.24 of the statutes is amended to read:
AB172-AA1,1,9 4103.24 Hours of work. The department shall determine and fix reasonable
5hours of employment for minors in street trades. In determining and fixing those
6hours of employment, the department shall prohibit a minor who is 11 years of age
7from being employed or permitted to work in the sale or distribution of newspapers
8before 6 a.m. and after 8 p.m. on a day preceding a school day or 9 p.m. on a day not
9preceding a school day.
AB172-AA1, s. 2r 10Section 2r. 103.66 (2) of the statutes is amended to read:
AB172-AA1,2,711 103.66 (2) The department may investigate and fix reasonable classifications
12of employments and hours of employment for minors and may issue general or
13special orders fixing maximum hours of employment for minors per day and per

1week, maximum days of employment per week, hours at which employment shall
2begin and end and the duration of lunch and other rest periods as are necessary to
3protect the life, health, safety, and welfare of minors. In investigating and fixing the
4hours at which employment may begin and end, the department shall prohibit a
5minor who is 11 years of age from being employed in the sale or distribution of
6newspapers before 6a.m. and after 8 p.m. on a day preceding a school day or 9 p.m.
7on a day not preceding a school day.
