AB351-ASA1-AA7,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the substitute amendment as follows:

AB351-ASA1-AA7,1,3 1. Page 3, line 23: delete "authority" and substitute "authority, making an appropriation".

AB351-ASA1-AA7,1,4 2. Page 4, line 4: after that line insert:

AB351-ASA1-AA7,1,5 " Section 1r. 20.285 (1) (cm) of the statutes is created to read:

AB351-ASA1-AA7,1,8 20.285 (1) (cm) Studies on reducing incarceration and the impact of certain prisons. A sum sufficient for the costs of the studies on reducing incarceration and the impact of certain prisons conducted under s. 36.25 (38).".

AB351-ASA1-AA7,1,10 " Section 9m. 36.25 (38) of the statutes is created to read:

AB351-ASA1-AA7,2,5 36.25 (38) Studies on reducing incarceration and the impact of certain prisons. The board shall direct all institutions and centers to conduct ongoing studies concerning ways to reduce the rate of incarceration of criminal offenders and concerning the positive and negative impact that a supermaximum security prison has on the community in which it is located. The board shall provide for the results of the studies made under this subsection to be reported by January 31 of each year to the legislature under s. 13.172 (2), to the governor and to the secretary of state.".
