ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 1, TO 1997 ASSEMBLY BILL 362

AB362-AA1,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB362-AA1,1,2 1. Page 1, line 4: after "system" insert "and making an appropriation".

AB362-AA1,1,3 2. Page 2, line 1: before that line insert:

AB362-AA1,1,5 " Section 1e. 20.005 (3) (schedule) of the statutes: at the appropriate place, insert the following amounts for the purposes indicated: - See PDF for table

AB362-AA1, s. 1m Section 1m. 20.515 (1) (ag) of the statutes is created to read:

AB362-AA1,2,3 20.515 (1) (ag) Funding of certain employer contributions for county jailers. The amounts in the schedule for the payments required under 1997 Wisconsin Act .... (this act), section 4m (1).".

AB362-AA1,2,4 3. Page 2, line 1: delete " Section 1" and substitute "Section 1r".

AB362-AA1,2,5 4. Page 3, line 18: after that line insert:

AB362-AA1,2,6 " Section 4m. Nonstatutory provisions.

AB362-AA1,2,13 (1) Funding of certain employer contributions for county jailers. From January 1, 1999, to December 31, 1999, the state, from the appropriation under section 20.515 (1) (ag) of the statutes, as created by this act, shall pay, for any county government that is an employer under the Wisconsin retirement system, any increase in employer contributions under section 40.05 (2) (a) of the statutes during that period that results from granting county jailers protective occupation participant status under this act.

AB362-AA1,2,20 (2) Retirement research committee study. The retirement research committee is requested to study alternative funding mechanisms to pay for the increased employer cost that results from providing county jailers protective occupation status under the Wisconsin retirement system. If the retirement research committee conducts the study, the retirement research committee shall submit its report to the joint survey committee on retirement systems by January 1, 1999.".
