ASSEMBLY AMENDMENT 4, TO 1997 ASSEMBLY BILL 426

AB426-AA4,1,1 At the locations indicated, amend the bill as follows:

AB426-AA4,1,2 1. Page 12, line 19: delete lines 19 to 22 and substitute:

AB426-AA4,1,3 " Section 40b. 30.66 (title) of the statutes is amended to read:

AB426-AA4,1,4 30.66 (title) Speed and location restrictions.

AB426-AA4, s. 40f Section 40f. 30.66 (3) (a) of the statutes is renumbered 30.66 (3) and amended to read:

AB426-AA4,1,11 30.66 (3) (title) Prohibited operation ; motorboats other than personal watercraft. Except under as provided in s. 30.69 (3) (d), no person may operate a motorboat within 100 feet of any shoreline, dock, raft, pier or buoyed restricted area on any lake at a speed in excess of slow-no-wake speed. This subsection does not apply to personal watercraft.

AB426-AA4, s. 40j Section 40j. 30.66 (3) (b) of the statutes is renumbered 30.66 (3m) (b) and amended to read:

AB426-AA4,2,5 30.66 (3m) (b) No Except as provided in s. 30.69 (3) (d), on a lake that is more than 300 acres in size, no person may operate a personal watercraft at a speed in excess of slow-no-wake within 100 feet of any other boat. This paragraph does not apply if s. 30.69 (3) (a), (c) or (d) applies to the operation of the personal watercraft or within 100 feet of any shoreline, dock, raft, pier or buoyed restricted area.

AB426-AA4, s. 40m Section 40m. 30.66 (3m) (title) of the statutes is created to read:

AB426-AA4,2,7 30.66 (3m) (title) Prohibited operation; personal watercraft.

AB426-AA4, s. 40p Section 40p. 30.66 (3m) (a) of the statutes is created to read:

AB426-AA4,2,10 30.66 (3m) (a) No person may operate a personal watercraft on any river or on any lake that is 300 acres or less in size.".

AB426-AA4,2,11 2. Page 13, line 22: after that line insert:

AB426-AA4,2,12 " Section 44m. 30.69 (3) (d) of the statutes is amended to read:

AB426-AA4,2,16 30.69 (3) (d) Paragraphs Section 30.66 (3) and (3m) (b) and pars. (a) to (c) do not apply to pickup or drop areas that are marked with regulatory markers and that are open to operators of personal watercraft and to persons and motorboats engaged in water skiing.".

AB426-AA4,2,18 3. Page 21, line 6: delete "30.66 (3) (a)" and substitute "30.66 (title), (3) (a) and (b) and (3m) (title) and (a)".
